The philosophy is simple. We wish to share with the world our passion for art and the remarkable talents of our artists. We take pride in working with artists, patrons, collectors and colleagues who are kindred spirits.

TREVOR THE COLLECTOR

Trevor Harvey began collecting art at the age of 16. His keen interest in collecting and expanding his knowledge of art, grew exponentially over his lifetime. Trevor Harvey's collecting education began with extensive travels in early art trade around the world. At age 17 Trevor Harvey spent 6 months traveling alone in New Guinea, Borneo, Biak, Ambon and Celebes. This was to be the first of many trekking trips to remote regions where Trevor traded with the local villagers to procure their carvings, ceremonial head dresses, axes, knives, spears, food bowls, textiles and other items he considered worthy of collecting (These items had to be original and currently in use by the individual or community to be of personal interest). Trevor Harvey continued this extensive traveling for 6 years trading in the international art market.

Trevor Harvey's enthusiasm for collecting has proven to be infectious amongst other collectors. Trevor believes that collecting must feel "like falling in love with the same excitement, palpitations, sweaty palms and that dizzying high."

Trevor often refers to Picasso as his influence, when alluding to  a quote that he first discovered written in large bold letters on a European Museum wall: "The only purpose to Art is to cleanse the dust from the Soul, A cleansed Soul restores enthusiasm, what do the youth of Today need more than enthusiasm?" Picasso.

Another of Trevor's favourite quotes is from arguably the worlds greatest ever collector, J. Paul Getty. When asked how he amassed such a extensive and diverse collection, he simply said, "I buy what I like and like what I buy."
